Jesus Said Obama Was The Antichrist: Not

Several people have emailed me about another, “Is Obama the Antichrist?” theory. A “Christian Theologian” posits that Jesus spoke Hebrew words that sound like “Barack Obama” today recorded in the Greek Luke 10:18. You can read all about the theory and listen to the video at WND.

The nicest thing I can say about it is that it is highly original and provocative. The convoluted reasoning it employs is authoritative-sounding enough to the average Christian. Since they cannot disprove it, it leaves them wondering if it could be true or not knowing what to make of it. So they forward it to a friend to see if they know.

Then read this rebuttal in case several things do not jump out immediately at you when you hear his reasoning and after you read the verses in question yourself like a good Berean (Acts 17:11). Reading the verse alone (Luke 10:18) should suffice since you can immediately see it has nothing to do with the Antichrist nor is it a prophecy:

Luke 10:18 (HCSB) He said to them, “I watched Satan fall from heaven like a lightning flash.

If the sound of Obama’s name did come off Jesus’ lips, it would only be an insignificant coincidence. It’s not the proper way to build accurate doctrines. See my previous post as to why no American can be the Antichrist.

Is Obama the Antichrist
(or Even A Natural-Born American Citizen)?

Believing the Impossible

Last month I attended and spoke at my first Bible conference keynote. (Previously I had spoken at Borland Conferences during my previous career as a programmer). While researching for my keynote, I happened upon a profound quote:

“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few”—Shunryu Suzuki.

As an expert on Bible prophecy, I can attest to the applicability of that principle in my field. I constantly hear beginners pose Bible prophecy theories that are frankly impossible. Usually there is a clear and plain verse that nullifies the beginner’s theory. One clear verse is all that it takes because of the principle Jesus taught that “the Scripture cannot be broken” (John 10:35). We are not to believe a doctrine that would contradict the Bible. The Bible is a big difficult book that takes years to become expertly familiar with so false doctrines are commonly passed around and accepted.

Barrack Obama Antichrist Rumors

Case in point: is Obama the Antichrist? Lately, this is the question I receive most frequently since he became President of the United States.

Besides questions, I receive plenty of emails from people trying to convince me that Obama is the Antichrist. I think people send them because of the article on my website that uses Revelation 13 to identify someone else as the Antichrist. Obama Antichrist theorists naturally view the article as wrong and just have to correct me. One person even told me to take the article down so people are not “mislead” by it.

The article is still up even though I admit it is possible that the suggested candidate is wrong. We just will not know he is wrong until that person dies or the real Antichrist appears, whichever comes first. In the meantime discussion on the topic is good and one of the best ways to get people to actually study the Bible for themselves.

As for Barrack Obama, we can disqualify him as an Antichrist candidate today. This theory is about as valid as the common Christian belief that “Jesus can come back at any moment” (the secret pretrib rapture). To the beginner both theories seem possible. An expert can tell you that both theories are contradicted by plain clear Scripture. Barrack Obama does not fulfill a single major identification requirement for the Antichrist, especially not from Revelation 13.

Moreover, he cannot possibly be the Antichrist because he is a national of the wrong country. As I have covered in my free newsletter (simply email eatt-news@aweber.com to sign up), Daniel 9:26 tells us the nationality of the Antichrist is the same as those who destroyed the Temple in 70 AD: the people of the Roman Empire. The New American Commentary – Volume 18: Daniel 9:26 on page 267 confirms this is the meaning:

The “people” who would destroy Jerusalem and the temple were the Romans, but v. 27 makes clear that this “ruler” will be the future persecutor of Israel during the seventieth seven. “The people of the ruler” does not mean that the people “belong to” the ruler but rather that the ruler will come from these people. If the text is to be taken literally at this point, this future ruler will come out of the peoples and nations that made up the ancient Roman Empire. Daniel already had divulged in chap. 7 that the Antichrist’s origin will be from the fourth empire, Rome.

The country that Obama is from and rules did not even exist as country until 1700 years later. Therefore, a US Citizen cannot be the Antichrist because they are from a country that was not part of the Roman Empire who destroyed the Temple.

Proving Rumors With Conspiracy Theories

When I tell this to Obama Antichrist proponents, they usually ignore the evidence and invoke the “birther” conspiracy theory you may have heard in the news. It states “Obama was not born in the USA”. I suppose one wild theory deserves another to back it up. Anyone who would believe the first could easily entertain the second.
But even if this argument were true, it would make no difference because Daniel’s prophecy was not referring to the nation the Antichrist comes from. He was referring to what nation he is from. Making Obama a Kenyan does not help since Kenya was not part of the Roman Empire either.

Let’s be reasonable. If it were true that Obama was not qualified to be president, then the McCain campaign would have pounced on this Anyone who was willing to make the risky move of choosing Sarah Palin for vice president certainly would have used this angle if it had any solid evidence behind it. In fact, it recently came out that the McCain campaign did investigate this angle before the election. They found it to be unsubstantiated and the proof of Obama’s birth in Hawaii to be well-documented.

If only believers would consistently do likewise: investigate theories in the Bible themselves and only believe what is well-supported there. We would have a very different set of doctrines taught and widely believed if so. And we would have a lot more Bereans (Acts 17:11) than we do now.

Hope This Helps

Am I down on people who fail to do this and entertain or spread these weak Bible theories? Not at all. I remember some of the crazy doctrines I used to entertain when I was a beginner and had not learned clear thinking skills yet. I write what I do here to help those who want the truth and need a little help finding it just like I did when I was still a beginner. Although I am now an expert, I keep learning to grow in grace and knowledge and correct my own errors.

Here are more articles debunking Obama Birther and Antichrist conspiracy theories from Snopes.com. (BTW, Snopes is a great site to check before forwarding “Obama is the Antichrist”-type emails to avoid the embarassment when it turns out to be false as they usually do.)

Gaza War: 70th Week or Psalm 83 Near?

In the latest edition of my book Know the Future (printed September, 2008) I made the bold move of ruling out the next Sabbath year period as a candidate for the start of the 70th week before it even began (leaving the following Sabbath year cycle as the next candidate). People have been asking me my reasons for this ever since, especially now that Israel has gone to war with Gaza. Here is a typical letter about it:

Hi Tim,

While I’m fairly certain you’ve already been asked this by someone, I haven’t had the privilege of reading the response. A friend has loaned us your book, so I don’t have access to your message board. Here is my query:

In the paragraph preceding ‘The Revelation Roadmap’, you state that it is already too late for the next cycle. I realize that this was written/printed prior to the start of this latest Gaza conflict. Given the current events in the Middle East and the possibility that this could end up developing into the first entry you’ve described in your timeline, I’d like to know your thoughts on the issue.

Also, any other thoughts on current US economic stability? Or the upcoming president Obama?

Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for writing your question. The answer is no, no change. I do not see the prophecy of Psalm 83 is materializing yet, even with the Gaza conflict. The Psalm 83 prophecy speaks of all the Arabs being unified in war against Israel to wipe her off the map. Some thought this was premature of me even before Gaza flared up, but I am confident it is not. Here’s the explanation I wrote to someone by email who also thinks Psalm 83 could still happen soon and that we should not expect the extremists to act rationally but act once they have a nuke or two to destroy the small country of Israel:

It’s not simply a matter of one nuke. The Arabs need an arsenal and the capability of delivering it reliably. And these are not a few extremists we are talking about like religious fanatical suicide bombers. Psalm 83 talks about all the governments of Israel’s enemies joining together in a united attack on Israel. They are not going to make such a suicide attack and trigger the Samson Option unless they have some hope of winning through their own option. There is a very good reason that the Arabs have not done an unified attack since 1967 and 1973 to wipe out Israel and threaten her existence. It was rumored in those wars they prepared their fledgling nuclear stockpile to retaliate against the Arabs. Their first bomb produced had “never again” inscribed on it. That’s what the nukes are doing for them and will continue to do as the Arabs know Israel will use them on their capitals if they have nothing else to loose.

Of course I could be wrong and only time will tell. But in my experience this Gaza action is nothing new and not enough to end the 45 year quiet from the Arabs trying to do what they have desired since day one in 1948.

As for US stability, I addressed that in the new last chapter already that we can only expect the US to recover as she always has from economic setbacks because of what Revelation 18 predicts about her continued hegemony on the day she falls.

Regarding Obama, in the next free newsletter (to be posted here for those who have not subscribed yet) I will address why he cannot be the Antichrist. Sign up here or below if you have not already.

Hope this answers your question. And thank you for reading my book.

Sincerely,

Tim McHyde

Blood Moons of Jesus Return in 2015? Biltz Theory Debunked.

Recap of First Half of 2008 – Second Half Plans

“Life is what happens while we’re busy making other plans” a wise man said. That would be an accurate description of the first half of this year for me. I had hoped to use my recent retirement from Bible software programming to focus on writing more newsletters, books and even a DVD. But the sneaky suspicion in the back of my head that I’d be doing other things turned out to be more correct.

I have ended up spending a lot more time with my family including my children’s education. I’ve even gone to some school meetings and functions that I never would have had time for before, and found myself enjoying the interactions (OK, full disclosure: one of them was a day at the amusement park.) Probably more than anything, the lack of productivity is from having to learn to adjust to a completely fluid schedule. Previously I had regular work that I fit everything else around. Now I have the family needs and fit in time for writing around that. I have not been striking a true balance as you can tell from the lack of newsletters. I’m realizing this and getting better at it but at the same time have learned a lot from the new experiences. I am also learning how to work smarter in handling my many emails and inquiries and create some set time for writing. We’ll see how it goes. Anyway, I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow in new areas this way.

Next Book Planned – Price: Free!

One exciting development in recent months is my decision to postpone developing a DVD version of my book Know the Future and focus on writing my next book which I plan to put on my website for free. The reason is that I see a chance to fill a great need that nobody else has, a need I have become more acutely aware of from observing the reaction of those who read my book groundbreaking prophecy book Know the Future.

In the process of showing people finally how to understand prophecy literally, it’s necessary in my book to set straight any non-prophecy subjects that they depend on. For example, the 5th seal martyrs resting under the altar cannot be understood until we learn what exactly happens to our spirits when we die according to the Bible. This of course creates a domino effect with other doctrines not addressed in my book that Christians are mistaught. Readers are prompted at last to properly question what they were taught at church and to check everything against the Bible like a good Berean (Act 17:11). Also they are so excited about finally understanding Bible prophecy, that they are inspired to get started reading the entire Bible for themselves (which sadly only a minority of Christians ever do, leaving them ill-equipped to question what they are taught). This too naturally brings all kinds of questions up and I get to see them in my email inbox or on the reader’s private forums.

What I want to do is gather and review these questions and organize the key areas of Bible topics into a new book. My goal is to write the book that I wish I could have read when I decided to join a church believing it would please God and teach me the Bible. Having that book would have saved me a decade of church attendance and thousands of dollars of “tithes” only to find out in the end that churches mainly indoctrinate you in religious traditions with a little Bible basis mixed in (and have no authority to receive tithes). (I know that’s a provocative statement for those still attending church who have not figured this out yet, but I have a feeling that if you reflect on it, you will notice that for years you’ve been noticing disturbing problems with church or discrepancies between what they teach and what you read in the Bible. Most simply put these problems out of their minds because they have no answer for them nor see any alternative to church. Others leave for home church as this book details.)

Don’t get me wrong, I had a great experience at my church and still believe church has its place. But if your goal is to learn fully what God really wants of his servants and how to fulfill that, take it from me, there’s no substitute for reading the Bible directly yourself and learning to think critically on what you read. Since that’s such a difficult and intimidating endeavor (which is why most of us look to a paid professional pastor to figure it out for us), it would be invaluable to have a comprehensive book written by a someone who has already gone through church and years of Bible truth seeking. If that person is also able to tell it like it is because he has no denomination or church board to worry about firing him, then you could literally save decades of dead ends.

Yes, this is a big goal and it’s going to take me many months, but it excites me to think of helping the millions of Bible truth seekers still in churches only because they have not figured out yet that it’s not going to teach them what they expect. Since having an explosive book like this available for free is the best way for it to spread virally, my plan is to put it in its entirety on my site (plus make softcover editions people always request available for a low price). The extra traffic and new readership it brings should improve sales of my current book enough to cover my time investment so I can justify giving it away. If you have any comments or suggestions on this project or ideas for future newsletters, just reply to this email and send them my way.

Breakthrough on 2012

Recap of 2007 and Plans for 2008
—————————————————–
by Tim McHyde of EscapeAllTheseThings.com

So, what happened to all the newsletters you signed up for? More than a few have asked me about this, wanting to be sure there was not something wrong with their email or sign up. The answer is that my many planned newsletters never made it out of my head and into your inbox for lack of time. It’s not just that I had major deadlines with my Bible software programming client of nine years last year. On top of that my website and forums began to increase in traffic and sales, including of my new softcover edition which went through two printings in 2007. I went from biking to the post office a couple times per week to having to go every weekday (which has had the additional benefit of insuring I get enough exercise). So I was effectively working two jobs in 2007.

But as they say, it’s a good problem to have. Anytime you start a business in your spare time and weekends, you hope that it grows to the point that it can replace your regular income. But as it does, you have a period of too much work until you can transition out of your job. I’m just about there, having given notice with my client who are now looking for a programmer replacement. Since I take days to put each together each newsletter to ensure that they are worth your time, I ended up putting none out. I apologize for that and thank you for waiting patiently as I know how it feels to not be able to discern all the predictions and prophecies out there.

The good news is with programming work nearly behind me, you will be able to hear from me regularly. I plan regularly put out this newsletter, create a DVD version of Know the Future and, of course, more books. There is even a possibility of getting on TV soon.

And just as those of you know from reading Know the Future, all of this output will serve to make plain the rare literal teaching of the Bible on a range of subjects that you’ve probably been unable to find solid answers on. Some examples:

* Is the USA or its dollar or economy ready to fall? Find out why not.
* Is a Middle East War near?
* How can you tell a real prophet of God today according to the Bible?
* Which covenants are active today, Old or New? and who is under them? (The answer will surprise you…)
* Is there any need to worry about 2012? (See below for this new article)

Stay tuned so you don’t miss out on these coming articles that will help you get past your confusion over what the Bible says and be able to use that Biblical knowledge to discern the truth.

2. New Article: 2012 Doomsday and Bible Prophecy
—————————————————–
2012 is speculated to be the end of the world based on the Mayan Calendar and other sources. If you are worried or unsure about it, then some (un)common sense along with a literal Bible prophecy breakthrough can help. Find out what kind of year 2012 will be: normal or prophetic

One thing that will never end is speculation about the future. (That last sentence being a case in point, I suppose). Although, to my knowledge no specific dated predictions has ever succeeded, dates continue to be set and people continue to be fascinated and even concerned about them as they approach. (David Booth’s dream of the 1979 airline disaster premonition is one notable documented case that makes me qualify prediction with the word “dated”.)

The most popular doomsday date approaching is 2012. Countless sites offer evidences from various sources including Bible Code, Peak Oil, Numerology, Remote Viewing, Elliot Wave, etc. as evidence of something earth-shaking due that year. Most famously 2012 is the year when the so-called Long Count b’ak’tun cycle of the Mayan Calendar ends (on December 21 or possibly December 23). While it’s unclear what the end of that period meant to the Mayas, many interpret the period end as The End, perhaps of civilization as we know it due to a major catastrophe, such as the passage of Planet X.

Will Israel Launch the First Nuclear Attack Since WWII?

In the news today, yet another sign that the Bible’s predicted Middle East nuclear war is on the horizon:

Revealed: Israel plans nuclear strike on Iran

Iran’s president shows no signs of relenting, of course he’s a religious fanatic who wants an apocalypse to bring in the Mahdi. I think in a few years Iran and her allies will attack Israel per Psalm 83. I still am not sure if the mentioned preemptive strike on uranium enrichment facilities will trigger the Arabs as a counter attack or if Israel will have to scratch that and go for the hitting of the capitals like Damascus as a counter strike in defense. Either way, many bible prophecies indicate this war is coming, perhaps before the end of this decade.

Do Teachers Incur Stricter Judgment For Doctrinal Errors?

I get people asking for free copies of my Bible prophecy book for various reasons. When a man with a website asked for one, I suggested I would be willing to give the book in exchange for a link from his site (which costs him nothing). He said no since he was like most Christian sites who are overly worried about sending someone to a site that has any “doctrinal error”. Our correspondence sheds some light on this overly emphasized fear:

Tim,

I have been online for more than seven years and have never linked to someone else’s website, even though many have linked to mine (and I appreciate that). The reason is this: I do not know of any other website that does not have serious doctrinal error contained therein. And, if I found one I would not want to link to it because I would need to constantly monitor it in case false teaching was later added. Even with a disclaimer I would not want to be responsible before the Lord on the Day of Judgment for having a part in someone being led astray by false doctrines.

I have read enough on your website (that has nothing to do with end time prophecy) to know that you have several serious false teachings contained therein. And, of course you teach very serious errors concerning end time prophecy.

Please, just keep your book.

“Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we shall incur a stricter judgment” (James 3:1).

In Christ Jesus,

{name withheld}

My reply was as follows:

Doctrinal error is unavoidable without a prophet to interpret the scriptures for us today as they had in the First Century and in kingdom years. Surely you must admit you have doctrinal errors yourself.

Thus, certainly the judgment that James 3:1 is talking about has nothing to do with making an honest error in interpreting the very difficult book called the Bible, that Jesus said was difficult on purpose, quoting Isaiah and using parables to hide the meaning which is working quite effectively on Christians today [judging from how few understand his difficult words].

The judgment on teachers is for the typical sins we all do. But they are held more accountable to do what the bible says because they claim to know it well enough to teach it. I assure you, I walk uprightly and have a very happy wife and family as fruits to show it.

Principle of Accountability

For those who are not familiar with this principle of judgment weighted according to accountability, Jesus taught it in many places, including the parable of the wicked servants:

Luke 12:47-48 (KJV) 47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

If you think it through, James must be referring to this as the reason why teachers will be judged stricter. They know better what God’s will is and are more accountable to do it.

Accountability for Works, not Beliefs

There are good God-loving people often on both sides of every argument. The point is, the Bible is hard to understand as it proclaims itself is by design in both the OT and NT. Therefore, how could a loving God condemn us for misunderstanding what his Bible says and holding a false doctrine or belief? The Christian emphasis on doctrine is a result of all the many warring denominations differentiated only by their doctrines. However, the writing of James tells us it’s not about what doctrines we believe, but about our faith in God and our good works together that we are judged by:

James 2:17-20 (ESV) 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! 20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?

Hopefully what I present above is clear enough in this short and quick post for the reader to realize doctrinal error or mistaken theological beliefs are not to be feared anywhere near as much as how we act and how we treat others.
